Torn Paper Collage Art

 Torn Paper Collage Art

'Art is not what you see, but what you make others see'

Torn paper art is the method of using torn bits of colors from any kind of paper you can find like magazines, newspapers, pages of old books etc, fill in to add texture and colour to the picture.

No paint is used in the process in creating this artwork, the colours are bits of torn paper from discarded newspaper.
You can even use papers that have text on them, as long as they match your colour scheme. It was not going well with my work so I avoided the text part, picking just the colours.

How to

Draw the image outline in a thick paper with a pencil or a sketch pen (for better visibility), The drawing should be SIMPLE and NEAT.

Begin by searching the magazines, or newspaper and tear out the desired colour. Often advertisers use large sections of colour as background for the ad.

These sections of colours are your paint palette, the more colours you get, the more paint you will have to work with to create your art piece.

Tear into small pieces, don’t make them all the same, you will need pieces of all different sizes and shapes. Using a glue stick paste the pieces. Keep the pieces within the lines of your drawing.

Finish your collage by securing all the pieces down with a final layer of glue.
