POP ART PORTRAIT

This type of colorful digital art is commonly known as WPAP

WPAP is an abbreviation from "Wedha's Pop Art Portrait". Popularized in the late 1990's by Indonesian artist Wedha Abdul Rasyid, Wedha started to illustrate faces formed by single lines and strong colors, inspired by the cubism style.  Wedha created the art works in traditional medium and in early 2000 it entered the digital world.

Popart is easily recognizable by their sharp lines and wild, vibrant color schemes.

This is the first popart i created as a birthday present for my daughter. I wanted to do something different  and my search ended up with popart.
Popart is digitally drawing the faces that are already familiar to us, with a new and different style, more colorful more dynamic, but it still must be easily recognizable.
I used 'Adobe illustrator' and 'Adobe Photoshop' for creating this artwork.

Creating the Popart starts with selecting the right photo with proper clarity, keeping that as the  reference, creating different layers ,  each layer is a geometric shape with straight lines, and then filling colors to the shapes you created.

Selection of colors is very much important. It add life to the popart. The correct exposure of light is also represented through the colors.

Every pop artwork is special to me  as it is created as a Gift  showing how important and special they are to me.

Creating a digital art is a tedious job, There is no short cut to create the shape layers. More the layers more the depth to the picture.
